The PID acts to analyze and test for a range of atmospheric particles. The Micro 5 PID comes with a fully charged battery, calibrated, and ready to use right out of the box. Should the GasAlert Micro 5 PID detect harmful levels there are three alert modes.

You and your workers can feel confident that no matter the work environment, the GasAlert Micro 5 will alert your team to any dangerous gas levels. The large LCD screen constantly displays all the gas levels and a backlight is in place so you can see it even in confined and dark spaces. The unit is full of small, user-friendly features like this, making it great to use in almost any environment. IP66/67 rated, the GasAlert Micro 5 is water-resistant, while an in-built concussion-proof boot means it is made for the real world and serves to protect the sniffer in the event of a fall. A motorized pump model allows users to remotely sample areas prior to entry. This is ideal for confined space work or manhole entry, letting you take any necessary precautions before entering the confined space and enhancing your teams' safety.

The kit includes a 1.5m sampling hose with a dust and water filter to remove sample contaminants and prevent any damage to your gas sniffer. This rechargeable model comes with NiMH battery and charging cradle. One nifty thing about the system and the Micro 5 is that you can actually hot swap batteries, so you do not have to switch off the unit. The data logging option sports a pre-installed memory card that stores data and alarm events, you can retrieve this data and use the included Fleet Manager II software to archive and manage it. To top off the feature list, BW Technologies and Honeywell have included a full suite of self-tests and auto-calibration, meaning that only minimum maintenance is required.
